Ohio Artists Unite to Inspire Civic Engagement Through ArtsVote Yard Signs

COLUMBUS—As part of the ArtsVote Ohio effort, the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), in partnership with CreativeOhio, the Charles F. Kettering Foundation, ArtWorks (Cincinnati), and LAND Studio present “Get Out the Vote” themed yard signs to be distributed across the state in four cities. Thirteen artists—distributed among Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Dayton—created 12 different 18″ x 24” full-color signs encouraging people to vote. The signs are provided for free to Ohio arts organizations and residents through arts organization partnerships in each participating city.

“Many of us may not immediately see the connections between democracy and our daily lives,” said Joni Doherty, senior program officer for Democracy and the Arts. “The Charles F. Kettering Foundation is pleased to support ArtsVote Ohio during this critical election year. The artists who contributed to this project help to make that connection in ways that appeal to our hearts and minds.”
