Dream Big and Fly High

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Flying Pig Marathon in 2018, Bob and Jeanne Coughlin, in association with Paycor and the Flying Pig Marathon, partnered with ArtWorks to create a mural in a prominent location in Downtown Cincinnati.  The Flying Pig Marathon is a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, and the third largest in the country, attracting participants from all fifty states and from many countries around the world annually. The full marathon route weaves in and out of numerous Cincinnati neighborhoods and crosses the river into Northern Kentucky. It is truly a community event, with around 150,000 spectators in attendance to cheer on runners each year. To celebrate its twentieth anniversary in 2018, Bob and Jeanne Coughlin, in association with Paycor and the Flying Pig Marathon, partnered with ArtWorks to create this mural. The design is a bright and welcoming addition to the area and showcases a flying pig as the focal point with encouraging text incorporated to model motivational signs held by spectators for runners during various races.  The mural design encompasses the positive energy of the Flying Pig Marathon events and shows that not only is the marathon in Cincinnati, but it is an integral part of the fiber of Cincinnati’s culture. How do you “make pigs fly”?
