What is an ArtWorks Gallery Fellowship?

The ArtWorks Gallery Fellowship is a game-changing, free program where you’ll learn from Artists-in-Residence and get hands-on experience to take your skills to the next level. This is your chance to learn, grow, create, and connect with other artists.

By offering personalized guidance, professional development, and collaborative opportunities, the program fosters artistic growth in an inclusive and supportive environment. Participants (ages 16-24) gain valuable gallery skills, experiment with new techniques, and showcase their work in a group exhibition with the opportunity to sell their work. This unique fellowship program empowers emerging artists to connect with the community and step confidently into the professional art world.

ArtWorks has four Gallery Fellowships planned for 2025, each of which will culminate in a group exhibition. Check out all our previous exhibitions featuring the work of Gallery Fellows & Artists-in-Residence!

How do I apply to the program?

Applications for each Gallery Fellowship will be posted on this webpage at least 4 weeks prior to the start of each fellowship. We welcome you to apply for one or all of our opportunities in the Gallery Fellowship Program.

Our next Gallery Fellowship will be led by Artists-in-Residence Andrew Neyer and Andy J. Miller, resulting in an exhibition titled Color Me.

The most important element of your application is your artistic portfolio, which must include a minimum of 2 works of art and at maximum 5 works of art. If you have any issues with uploading your portfolio, please send it directly to Karla Batres Gilvin, Exhibitions and Gallery Fellowship Manager at karla@artworkscincinnati.org. Karla is also reachable for any questions regarding the Gallery Fellowship Program.
