Last month as we wrapped up the 2021, the ArtWorks V² Gallery was named Best of the City by Cincinnati Magazine. Cincinnati Magazine is the definitive guide to living well in Greater Cincinnati, connecting sophisticated, educated readers with the region’s most interesting people, cultural issues, food, arts, fashion, and history via print, digital, and events. The category of Best Art Gallery sat in the Entertainment division of the accolades. Our team is honored that within its first year, our new gallery has brought artistic liveliness to our city for all to enjoy.
The ArtWorks V² Gallery is unlike any other gallery in Cincinnati, focusing on young emerging Artists. Inspired by ArtWorks amazing apprentice program, the young artists of this program learn the tools and techniques of lead artists and create their own individual works of art to exhibit as an intentional group show.
The gallery is currently in works for its next exhibit, Carving Out Your Own Path. The exhibit will feature wood-based artwork created by John Lanzador and 8 Youth Artists: Bri Wales, Anisha Rai, Shalyla Elms, Phoenix Brumm, Naja Sanders-Tate, Brynn Connelly, and Ron’Nique Robinson. ArtWorks is also accepting applications for a show to premiere later this year, Active Imagination, in partnership with Cincinnati Art Museum. The opportunity is open to African American youth ages 16-23 for photography show inspired by the Kamoinge Collective. Briana Davis, Louis Rideout, Frank Young, and ALLEN Woods are the mentors slated for this youth artist residency.
