GENUINE STATIC is a multimedia program that holds space for the vulnerability we may experience throughout salient moments in our lives. How can we recognize and cherish overbearing shifts? And how do we release and build from these sensations, while still holding significance for them? This series will touch on intentional and unintentional ways of creation, through paint, and other multiple mediums of art. We can accept and build from mistakes and challenges. We can learn to freely express ourselves as the genuine, static beings that we recognize ourselves to be.
Learning Objectives:
- Artists will learn how to use/experiment with different texture techniques; and how to expand beyond regular, square canvases
- Artists will create individual and collaborative work that includes: large-scale paintings and sculpture.
- Artists will create art inspired by conversations, readings, music, etc that is shared throughout our sessions.
- Artists will learn how to use and layer multiple mediums to create cohesive art pieces.
