Inhabited: Stories of the Past

ArtWorks’ Inhabited: Stories of the Past photo mural weaves together the rich history and vibrant present of the Easterseals building in Walnut Hills. This unique installation, created as part of the 2024 FotoFocus Biennial, features a blend of historical photos, newspaper clippings, and portraits of current Easterseals Redwood staff and employees.

The dedication of this mural  marks the completion of a mural that breathes new life into the very same wall where one of ArtWorks’ first murals Dottin the Hill was painted, back when the building was known as the Work Resource Center.  Today, it stands as a testament to the growth and expansion of both ArtWorks and Easterseals Redwood over the years, highlighting the synergy and shared vision that continues to drive our long-standing partnership.

We are grateful for our incredible partners at Fotofocus, Easterseals Redwood, the Walnut Hills Historical Society, and the Cincinnati History Library and Archives for their support and collaboration on this project.

The mural was brought to life by ArtWorks Photo/Video Studio in collaboration with artist Erika NJ Allen:
