The Hayden at Roebling Point, the former site of the Kenton County Administration Building and Jail at 103 E. 3rd St in Covington, has been transformed into a 133-unit luxury apartment complex with 4,000 sq. ft. of ground-floor retail space. Neyer and Urban Sites collaborated on the site’s construction and redevelopment, partnering with ArtWorks to embellish the property with a vibrant mural that reflects the community’s culture and history.
Muralist and painter Christian Dallas was requested by Neyer to paint the mural. Molly North, Neyer’s CEO, expressed a desire for the mural to emphasize “What they could be, rather than where they’ve already been.”
ArtWorks’ new mural at The Hayden adds a fresh burst of color and charm in Covington. When you cross the Roebling Bridge and enter Kentucky, it’s one of the first things you’ll see. The 1,200 sq. ft. mural synthesizes beauty with a dash of surrealism, displaying a lush composition of flowers – goldenrods, zinnias, and dahlias – amidst blooms of midcentury lightbulbs. The whimsical design beautifully narrates Covington’s rich history and culture while casting a hopeful gaze toward the area’s exciting future.
The ArtWorks Mural Studio embraced the task of realizing Christian’s design, engaging a team of eight talented artists aged 18–24 to complete the masterpiece.
