Bats Incredible! In the summer of 2004, ArtWorks crteated Bats Incredible!, a public art initiative displaying of over 200 three-dimensional, freestanding sculptures constructed out of dozens of genuine, regulation major league baseball bats. Each slugger sculpture was designed by a local artist and sponsored by a local company or organization. Like pigs, Bats Incredible! is a natural for Cincinnati, home of America's first professional baseball team. In 2004, Cincinnatians were celebrating the next phase in our baseball history with the opening of Great American Ballpark. Bats Incredible! debuted during the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day parade, March 31, 2003. It returned whimsical public art to Cincinnati, celebrating our tradition and love of baseball, promoting regional artistic talent, and generating awareness and pride of Cincinnati's history and culture among residents and visitors alike.
