Stage Crew Apprentices worked closely with a Children’s Theatre scenic designer to create mobile sets for the ArtReach, the Children’s Theatre’s traveling performance troupe. Completed during the six weeks were sets for “Town Mouse Country Mouse” and “Tom Sawyer.” The team painted five backdrops for “Town Mouse Country Mouse,” in whimsical, bright colors, to appeal to the elementary-aged students that will view this show. For “Tom Sawyer” they painted three backdrops in a storybook illustration style, targeted at middle school aged students. They used a water-coloring technique to create this look. By year’s end, these sets will be seen by more than 10,000 students throughout the region!
