Tamara Harkavy
Director Tamara Harkavy is the founding director of ArtWorks. Since its launch 1996 as a job-training and employment program for talented teens, ArtWorks has become a leader in employing artists of all ages, creating public art and initiating innovation arts programming for the city of Cincinnati.
Under her leadership, ArtWorks has employed more that 2000 teens and 400 artists to work on hundreds of visual arts projects. Many of these works of art remain, in public and private venues, as testaments to the artistic talents of the participants. Tamara and her team were also the creative force behind the Big Pig Gig, Bats Incredible. They are now working on Artworks’ newest public art initiatives, MuralWorks and Queen City Art Racks.
ArtWorks has been awarded three prestigious Post-Corbett Awards; a Convention and Visitors Bureau Ambassador Award, a Community Impact Award from the American Marketing Association, and recognition from Hillary Rodham Clinton for ArtWorks’ leadership and vision. Tamara, a 2007 Cincinnati Enquirer Woman of the Year, also works with the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund, The Jewish Federation and many smaller arts organizations in an advisory capacity. She holds a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor's degree from Arizona State. Tamara believes that Art has incredible power to Inspire, Engage and Transform lives.

Colleen Houston
Director of Programs
As Director of Programs, Colleen is responsible for project and partnership development, management and implementation of all ArtWorks programs including The Summer Program, After School, MuralWorks, and Commissioned Projects. In this capacity, Colleen serves as the chief community outreach liason for ArtWorks. As an ArtWorks staffer since 1997, Colleen has been instrumental in the growth and strategic positioning of the organization. Colleen now serves as a member of the strategic management team with the Director of Development, Director and Board President.
Prior to her tenure at ArtWorks, Colleen graduated with a BA from Warren Wilson College where she customized a degree in Public and Social Art. Colleen has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Artery and as an advisor to Visionaries and Voices. Additionally Colleen is an annual judge for Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the AIA Architecture by Children Awards. Colleen continues to work as a consultant and volunteer to many community arts projects.

Beth Fiore
Director of Development
As Director of Development, Beth is responsible for generating the funding that is necessary to support ArtWorks’ award-winning programs. Under the direction of the Director and Board of Trustees, Beth fosters relationships with ArtWorks’ essential base of support including individuals, corporations, government and foundations. She is also responsible for the management of Secret ArtWorks, ArtWorks Gallery and ArtBank.
Joining the team in January 2009, Beth brings her experience of fundraising in the environment, social services and now the arts. Most recently, she served as the Individual Giving Manager at the Cincinnati Art Museum, stewarding the members of the Founder’s Society and the Museum’s groundbreaking contemporary art collectors group, 4th Floor. Previous to the Museum, Beth was the Director of Development at Women Helping Women, where she managed the agency’s fundraising efforts including the popular Sunday Salons and Light Up The Night events. Beth received her bachelor’s degree in geography from Rutgers University.
A native of New Jersey, Beth has called Cincinnati home for the past 4 years. She serves on the executive committee of the Columbia Tusculum Community Council where she resides with her husband Jim and their 2 dogs.

Allyson Knue
ArtWorks Program & Recruitment Manager
Program & Recruitment Manager Allyson Knue joined the ArtWorks staff in 2006 and contributes her talents to ArtWorks Summer and After-School job-training and employment programs. Working on all facets of programming, Allyson supports Apprentice Artist recruitment and selection, the hiring of artistic staff and project development. She is responsible for volunteer management, event planning as well as ArtWorks' public relations and marketing efforts. Allyson holds a BA in Communication and a Journalism Writing Certificate from the University of Cincinnati.

Michael Stout
ArtWorks Program Coordinator
As Program Coordinator, Michael assists with the development, management and implementation of ArtWorks programs. With a background in community planning and design Michael is involved with MuralWorks, ArtWorks Summer Program, After School, and other commissioned public art projects. Within these projects he is involved in the strategic planning, marketing and community relations. Michael has earned a Master’s degree in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati’s College of DAAP and a BFA in Visual Communication from Herron School of Art. His interest in public art, economic development, and urban design led him to be involved in 2008 Summer Program’s The Outdoor Museum and has since joined the administrative team.

Alex Eichler
Communications and Development Coordinator
Alex joined ArtWorks in October 2009. In her role as Communications and Development Coordinator, she oversees all ArtWorks print and electronic communications, including press releases, development materials, newsletters and the ArtWorks website. She is also responsible for maintaining the Artist Registry. Alex is a graduate of the Arts Management Program at the College of Charleston, SC. In the past, she has worked with Spoleto Festival USA, the City of Charleston's Office of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Alex currently resides in Mason.

Shannon Ross
Assistant to the Director
Shannon Ross joined the ArtWorks staff in March 2010. As Assistant to the Director, Shannon manages scheduling, organization, and correspondence for the Executive Director, and coordinates all office improvements and upkeep. In addition, Shannon is responsible for planning and managing events related to the ArtWorks Project Space.
Prior to joining the ArtWorks staff, Shannon participated in the 2006 ArtWorks Summer Program as a Teaching Artist for the True Body Project, and was also hired to help coordinate the inaugural Secret ArtWorks fundraising event. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Ashland University with a concentration in sculpture and a minor in Art History. In addition, she took graduate coursework and extensively studied Modern and Contemporary Art History and Performance at the University of Cincinnati’s College of DAAP. As an artist, Shannon has shown her work and performed both regionally and nationally. Shannon is also a baker, a runner, a kickball team captain, and an avid karaoke performer.

Sarah Meisch
Development Associate
Sarah joined the ArtWorks team in April of 2009. In her role as Development Associate she supports the organization's fundraising activities, process and the database, working closely with development, accounting and programming staff, and assisting with communications and marketing.
Sarah is a recent transplant to Cincinnati from Seattle, WA. Having grown up in New Jersey and Madison, WI, she is glad to be in Midwestern city that boasts the cultural resources of the East Coast. Sarah’s background is primarily in Information Technology, and she has also taught LSAT review courses, started a web design company, and worked as a consultant for a marketing firm. This is the first time in her career that Sarah has worked professionally in the world of development, but she has served tirelessly as a volunteer for West Sound Wildlife Shelter in Bainbridge, WA, Flying House Productions in Seattle, and now with MUSE Choir here in Cincinnati. She currently serves on MUSE’s board as Treasurer. Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA.
Sarah, her husband Brian, and their funny and wild four-year-old Norah are loving their new home and new neighbors in Mt Lookout.
