"Pride in the 'Ville"

Before

After

  • 1733 Dirr St.  Cincinnati, OH 45223 in South Cumminsville
  • A project of the 2009 ArtWorks Summer Program
  • In partnership with the South Cumminsville Community Council
  • Mural dedicated September 2009

Framed in graceful arches inspired by the nearby iconic church St. Pius, the South Cumminsville mural creates a window into the heart of the neighborhood, showcasing its past and the pride in their ‘Ville.  Seven panels feature everything from a favorite local hot dog stand to a local radio station. The mural draws on the Surrealist style of Magritte, and the final result holds interest through fantastical happenings as well as beautiful and fascinating images from real life South Cumminsville.
